Position: Bench/Field Service Technician

Job Summary:

We currently have an opening within the Technical Service team at head office, for a Bench/Field Technician, servicing our diverse product spectrum to join our growing, and well established company. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing SciCan Medical and Dental products, and providing technical support to the users, dealers and distributors of SciCan’s products.

This position will report to the Technical Service Manager.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all SciCan equipment in accordance with the assignments of the Technical Service Manager
  • Document the service provided, including cycle faults, defects, corrective measures taken, spare parts used, in SciCan’s Management Information System
  • Provide telephone support to the distributors and end users of SciCan’s products
  • Be willing to learn new products and cross train effectively  within the department
  • Thoroughly study all product materials, including Operator’s and Service Manuals, bulletins, instructions etc and adhere to them when performing service on SciCan’s products
  • Build strong relationships with SciCan’s customers, to address their concerns with the TSM and to help resolve conflict
  • Comply with SciCan’s policies and procedures
  • Comply with SciCan’s safety policies and hospitals’ safety policies when on their premises
  • Report technical issues and provide input into their resolution
  • Attend technical and other training sessions at SciCan and at Suppliers’ premises
  • Manage inventory

 

Requirements:

  • 5 years of related work experience in a technology laboratory setting, medical, hospitals and labs
  • CET technical certificate is an asset
  • Fluency in French language is an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and to build both internal and external relationships
  • A high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience in the use of all associated test equipment, including multimeters, hand tools
  • Soldering skills
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform physical work/lifting
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel as necessary for training and field service calls
  • Travel within Canada

Position: Shipper & Receiver

Reporting To: Warehouse Manager
 

Job Summary:

This position requires the successful candidate to work with the warehouse team to receive, store, retrieve and distribute finished products and parts, including receiving, logging and labeling incoming shipments, matching shipments against purchase orders and pick lists, picking and packing shipments, picking parts for requisitions from manufacturing and product service, and tracing the status of shipments.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To record and receive all incoming goods
  • To pick orders when orders come from customer service, Technical Service, or Production
  • To check and pack orders
  • To store and rotate stock as needed
  • To dispatch and complete bills of lading for shipping
  • To perform pick-up and deliveries when needed
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area and perform general housekeeping throughout the warehouse on a daily basis

Position: Digital Designer

 

Job Summary:

SciCan seeks a passionate, marketing savvy, digital and email designer to help take our marketing to the next level. The Digital Designer will design, develop and implement engaging digital marketing content across global channels: websites, display advertising, promotions, mailing lists and social media. The Digital Designer is also responsible for the implementation of goals and tracking and reporting for Google Analytics. This role is to support the Marketing Communications department and to develop global marketing content, while working closely with global stakeholders from other departments and offices.

Position: Web Platform Back End Developer

 

Job Summary:

We currently have an opening within the Special Projects team, for a Web Platform Back End Developer to join our growing, and well established company. This position is responsible for the development of all server-side logic, the definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. The successful candidate will integrate the front-end elements built by team members into the application, and build reusable code and libraries for future use. The position will also be responsible for the optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability, the implementation of security data protection, and the development and maintenance of software documentation.

Position: Quality Assurance Engineer

 

Job Summary:

We currently have an opening within the Quality Assurance department, for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing and well-established company. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the current quality system and to make adjustments as necessary with changing customer and regulatory requirements. In addition the incumbent will assist the QAM in overseeing and developing the incoming, in-process and final inspection activities of the Quality department inspectors.

  • Develop, maintain and improve product quality plans;
  • Review and revise quality documents; procedures, work instruction and forms;

  • Maintain the calibration / maintenance program for tools and measuring equipment;
  • Perform in-house calibration / maintenance for tools and measuring equipment;
  • Perform quality system internal audits;
  • Coordinate local certification of non-certified distribution products;
  • To file and maintain travelling cards (DHR) ;
  • To provide backup services for other QA Staff (Per training);
  • Manage vendor audit program;
  • Supervise the inspectors work as QAM delegate;

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quality Engineering or Engineering Degree plus Quality certificate;
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in a Medical Device manufacturing environment preferably with technology related products;
  • Extensive familiarity with ISO 13485;
  • Internal auditing and risk management experience is an asset;
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work in groups as well as independently with minimal supervision;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential;
  • Computer skills MS Office, Visio, PLM & ERP;
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations.
